About the site
boydsmaps online provides access to high quality maps and imagery of Southern New Jersey and the Mid-Atlantic region. The site was launched in April 2019 and became publicly available on June 17, 2019. In early April 2020, the site will move to a cloud server that uses a cluster of computers for greater reliability. The new server will also have almost four times the disk space, twice the CPU and 50% more memory. There are currently about 70 gigabytes of locally-stored maps and more will be added in the future. Users can also access many terabytes of additional imagery provided by the New Jersey Geographic Information Network, Pennsylvania Spatial Data Access, New York City DoITT, New York State GIS Clearinghouse, USGS, OpenStreetMap and more. The map viewer is a custom application based on the open source Leaflet platform.
