New Jersey 2015 High Resolution Orthophotography, Natural Color

These services display the three natural color bands from the 4-band project. The native data set spatial reference system is EPSG::6527 NAD83(2011) NJ State Plane coordinates, US Survey feet (Transverse Mercator projection). The cache processing has produced continuous tiles in EPSG::3424 NAD83 NJ State Plane coordinates, US Survey feet. Multi-spectral digital orthophotography was produced at a nominal scale of 1:2400 (1″ = 200′) with a 1 foot pixel resolution for the entire state, totalling approximately 8,162 square miles. Digital orthophotography combines the image characteristics of a photograph with the geometric qualities of a map. Each digitized perspective aerial photograph is rectified for camera lense distortion, vertical displacement caused by terrain relief, and variations in aircraft altitude and orientation.
Aerial imagery was acquired using Microsoft UltraCam Falcon and Eagle large format cameras with a flight design that included a total of 4171 exposures in 51 flight lines. Aerial imagery was supplemented with the simultaneous acquisition of airborne GPS/IMU data, which captured the ground coordinate for the nadir point of each photograph. Aerial imagery was exposed at an altitude of 16,480′ above mean terrain.

Principal operating contractor was Quantum Spatial, Inc. Quality Assurance by Woolpert, Inc, under contract to U.S.G.S. Processing for the WMTS was done by NJOIT – OGIS.
Horizontal Position Accuracy
Please see the Accuracy Analyst report for a detailed report showing the 57 control points measured to produce the NSSDA value of 0.737 meters. Due to resampling during image production in the WMS, image accuracy from the WMS probably is slightly degraded.
